The Truth about Prilosec

What they want you to think: Prilosec doesn't work to cure your acid indigestion. Prilosec isn't for immediate relief, it takes up to 14 days to work and doesn't cure the problem.

The Truth: Now, I know this may seem like a pointless article this week, but I got tired of all the negative publicity that Prilosec is getting. Since becoming an over-the-counter drug, the other companies that make acid blockers starting picking it apart, saying that it isn't for immediate relief.  Well DUH! Prilosec wasn't ever used for immediate relief.  Prilosec is used as a regimen for 14 days that prevents heartburn and acid indigestion, that prevents frequent heartburn.  Regular acid relief medicine is designed for immediate relief from transient acid problems, they don't treat long term like Prilosec.  Prilosec will prevent heartburn and acid problems instead of providing a quick fix.  The other drug companies should lay off, they make asses of themselves by providing the ignorant public with lies and half-truths.  Of course only you can determine the severity of your acid problems, and can make a decision on medication accordingly.  If you have frequent ( 2 or more times a week) you should consider Prilosec.

Final Summation: Don't listen to those commercials denouncing Prilosec as ineffective and slow against heartburn and acid indigestion.  For a quick fix, the other medicines work, but to actually prevent it from happening, Prilosec works the best

Note: Prilosec is a registered trademark of Proctor and Gamble Laboratories.

Notes II: The Truth Commission suggests seeing your physician before starting any sort of medicinal regimen.
